South Indian superstar and politician Thalapathy Vijay’s much-anticipated film Jana Nayagan has become the talk of the industry even before hitting theatres. Ticket bookings began shortly after the film’s audio launch event in Malaysia, triggering an overwhelming response from fans worldwide.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, despite the absence of an official trailer and with nearly a week remaining until release, the film has recorded extraordinary advance sales. Including premiere shows, Jana Nayagan has already crossed approximately ₹15 crore in global advance bookings for its opening day.
The film has witnessed particularly strong demand in overseas markets. Advance ticket sales outside India alone have generated an estimated ₹11–12 crore, with major contributions coming from North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
In contrast, advance bookings within India have so far reached around ₹3 crore. However, this figure is expected to rise significantly as ticket sales are currently limited to Karnataka and Kerala. Trade analysts believe that once bookings open in Tamil Nadu and other key Indian regions, the numbers will see a massive surge, as these markets traditionally drive Vijay’s opening-day collections.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan carries immense significance as it is Vijay’s last film before he fully transitions into politics. The emotional connection with fans, combined with the film’s political action theme, has played a crucial role in its record-breaking advance sales performance.
