Speaking to journalists on Tuesday (December 23) after inspecting the under-construction reception stage at the 300 Feet area in the capital, Rizvi shared the party’s expectations.
He stated that Tarique Rahman is scheduled to return to the country the day after tomorrow, and leaders and activists from different districts have already started arriving in Dhaka. Rizvi expressed hope that the area would turn into a massive public gathering and festival on December 25.
After the reception ceremony, Tarique Rahman is expected to visit his mother, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who has long suffered political persecution and is currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital.
The historic homecoming of BNP’s second-highest leader has created a festive atmosphere across all levels of the party. From grassroots workers to central leaders, a renewed sense of enthusiasm and excitement is visible.
Since morning, BNP activists from various parts of the country have been visiting the stage area with slogans and placards, expressing their full readiness to welcome their leader.
As part of heightened security measures, joint patrols by police and the army have been deployed in the area. Multiple teams of the army have been seen conducting regular inspections to ensure overall security.
Meanwhile, due to security concerns, the airport authority has imposed restrictions on the entry of non-passengers and visitors at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from 6:00 pm tomorrow until 6:00 pm on December 25.
