The funeral prayer of July revolutionary and anti-imperialist platform Inquilab Mancha’s spokesperson, Sharif Osman bin Hadi, was held on Saturday with the participation of thousands of people from all walks of life.

The janazah took place at 2:30 PM on Saturday (December 20) at the South Plaza of the National Parliament building. The prayer was led by his elder brother, Abu Bakar Siddique.

Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus attended the funeral, along with senior political leaders including BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, and National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam. Several advisers of the interim government were also present.

Leaders from various political parties, social and cultural organizations, as well as activists of Inquilab Mancha and family members of Osman Hadi, joined the funeral prayer.

After the janazah, his body was taken to be buried beside the grave of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam near Dhaka University. Osman Hadi will be laid to rest there, honoring his role as a prominent figure of the July movement.

The death of Osman Hadi has cast a shadow of grief across the nation, with supporters remembering him as a fearless voice against oppression and domination.
