A fire that broke out at a shopping complex in Dhaka’s Gulistan Zero Point area was brought under control after nearly one and a half hours of firefighting efforts.
The incident occurred at 5:28 pm on Friday (December 26) at a warehouse located on the rooftop of the eight-storey Khaddar Bazar Shopping Complex.
Upon receiving the alert, nine units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and began extinguishing the flames. The fire was fully brought under control by 6:58 pm.
Fire Service headquarters media cell officer Anwarul Islam Dolon confirmed the matter, stating that the combined efforts of nine units successfully controlled the fire. However, the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
He also said there were no immediate reports of casualties, and it remains unclear whether anyone was trapped inside the building.
The incident caused panic among shopkeepers and visitors in the area, prompting nearby businesses to close temporarily as a precaution.
